This project involved illuminating the facilities of DHL HQ Dubai, located near the Meydan Hotel Dubai. The client approached us in early 2014 with the desire to create a uniform and visually appealing lighting scheme throughout their facilities. Their brand identity centered around the color yellow, and they required a lighting solution that would maintain this consistent color temperature from both near and far viewpoints.
Project Goals
Challenge:
The primary challenge involved achieving a consistent yellow color throughout the lighting installation. Our initial attempt utilized 5000K wall grazers, which appeared yellow at close range but shifted to white at a distance. This inconsistency did not meet the client’s requirements for maintaining their brand color identity. Additionally, the client desired a concealed lighting solution that minimized the visibility of the light fixtures themselves.
Solutions:
To address the color consistency issue, we conducted a series of tests with various color temperatures and beam angles. We installed a total of six samples to ensure the client’s complete satisfaction. Ultimately, we identified the optimal combination that delivered a consistent yellow color from both near and far viewpoints.
For the light fixture concealment, we devised a custom L-shaped aluminum cladding solution. This cladding effectively hid the light fixtures themselves, creating a clean and seamless aesthetic that aligned with the client’s vision.
